Dawn Anderson -- Second Grade

Dawn Anderson earned a BS in Education from Calvin College and a BA Degree from Grand Rapids Baptist College now called Cornerstone University. She has completed additional course work at Oakland University in the area of elementary reading and writing. She has over 20 years of experience as an elementary classroom teacher along with the position of elementary principal in two Christian schools. She is a member of the North Central Association steering committee here at FRCS. Singing and scrap booking are a two of the hobbies she enjoys in her spare time. |

Marlin Baker -- Band

Marlin Baker is a graduate of Wayne State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education. His education includes attending and graduating from Interlochen Arts Academy and studying Studio Music and Jazz Studies at the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida. For seven years he taught music privately for his own business, One On One, before coming to Franklin Road Christian School in March of 2005. He has taught African and Latino Music History for the Sphinx Organization which focuses on the contributions that minorities made to classical music. In addition to being an educator, Marlin is a professional performing artist, composer and arranger of music. He has toured the US, UK, Europe and Central America performing jazz music. He is the founder and leader of Zamar Instruments of Praise. Zamar is a modern jazz band that consist of Christian musicians who believe God created all things including the wonderful genre of jazz and is dedicated to glorify Him through it. Zamar is recognized nationally and internationally as performing and recording artist as Zamar has two compact disk recordings that are in rotation on XM Satellite Radio and other radio stations across the US and abroad. |

Vicki Baker -- Art

Vicki Baker is a graduate of Purdue University in Indiana with a Bachelor’s of Arts in K-12 Art Education. She is currently working on a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Eastern Michigan University. She taught at Agape Christian Academy for 3 years, and in Plymouth Canton schools. Vicki lives in Canton with her husband and two daughters. Her hobbies include painting, interior decorating and playing the piano. |

Stephanie Ebright -- First Grade

Stephanie earned a BA in Elementary Education with a minor is Spanish from Taylor University in May 2009. She graduated summa cum laude and is a member of Alpha Chi, a nationally known academic honors society. Steph is from Mishawaka, Indiana. Her educational experience included work in every grade level through her college career. She moved to the Detroit area after marrying her husband in July. Steph has a passion for education and is looking forward to instilling this passion in her students. |

Phyllis J. Gambino -- Vocal Music and Spanish

Phyllis Gambino earned a Bachelor of Music Education from Evangel University in Springfield, Missouri. She later received her regular classroom certification from Eastern Michigan University. She has completed 37 hours of graduate work in music and elementary education. She taught first grade and music for the Melvindale Northern Allen Park Schools from 1970 to 1977. She has worked for Franklin Road Christian School teaching music since the school began in fall of 1986. Having been raised in Peru, South America she uses her Spanish language background to teach Spanish to our elementary students. |

Mike Harris - Physical Education

Mike Harris is a graduate of Eastern Michigan University, holding a BS and Michigan Certification in K-12 Physical Education, and Secondary Health. Prior to joining the FRCS team, Mike taught in the Clarkston Community Schools District. Mike also has extensive experience coaching basketball and baseball at both the elementary and secondary levels. He is a member of the MAHPERD (Michigan Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance) and AAHPERD (American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance). |

Kim Kjos - Kindergarten Aide
Mrs. Kim Kjos is a former resident of Pennsylvania and is the wife of Sr. Pastor Jamie Kjos at Brightmoor Christian Church. They began their ministry in 1990 and have served in many localities. Prior to joining the FRCS staff, she attended Tulsa Community College and Central Bible College . She has taught Pre-Kindergarten for six years and has two children at FRCS. |

JoAnn McCready -- Third Grade

JoAnn McCready holds a BA in Elementary Education and Special Education for the Emotionally Impaired from Michigan State University. She also earned a MA in Special Education for the Learning Disabled from Oakland University. Her work experience includes 10 years as a resource room teacher and teacher consultant for the Farmington School District. Mrs. McCready has been the third grade teacher at Franklin Road Christian School since 1991. Her three children, Alyssa, Aaron, and Ashley are all FRCS graduates. |

Judi Robertson -- Kindergarten

Judi Robertson has been a member of FRCS since 1993. She is a graduate of Old Dominion University with graduate work from many colleges and universities. Teaching experiences include third grade, fifth grade and music (K-6) in Florida and Georgia respectively. She taught for fourteen years in Fairfax County, Virginia where the Lord provided opportunities to collaborate with other professionals in developing a professional mentoring model, and train as a career peer observer/counselor. While in Virginia, she also assisted in the development of a K-2 gifted and talented program. She is a member of Phi Delta Kappa, a national honorary professional organization. Previous professional experiences are as follow: curriculum writer (K), college lecturer (University of Virginia, East Carolina), and Horton-Gillingham training and certification. |

Nicholas Schultz -- Computer Science

Nicholas Schultz graduated from Michigan Technological University receiving a degree in Computer Science and a minor in Mathematics. He was involved in the Inter Varsity Christian Fellowship as a Bible study leader and member of the executive team.
Nicholas Schultz is currently working on a Business endorsement for his continuing education. He has taught for three years, one year at a charter school and two years at an alternative school in Belleville, MI. He has a child that will be born in January, which means that the only “children” he currently has are his two dogs, Theo and Buddy. Mr. Schultz loves the Lord, and his other interests include football, wrestling, track, swing dancing and Dance Dance Revolution. He is currently a member of NMSA, MAMSE, and MEA.

Geri Yost -- Fourth Grade

Geri Yost is a graduate of Heritage Baptist University with a BS degree in Elementary Education. She has taught since 1979. For 5 years she directed a large preschool in Fremont, Ohio. Geri, and her husband Dan joined the FRCS staff in 1999 and have four children. Two of their three daughters and son are graduates of FRCS. |

Karin Ward -- Fifth Grade

Karin Ward earned a Bachelor's Degree of Education from Southeastern University and a Master's Degree in Elementary Education from Wayne State University. She has nine years of teaching experience in Christian schools and two years of substitute teaching in both Christian and public schools. Her hobbies include swimming, biking, and spending quality time with her family. |
