Alumni Spotlight: Hannah Cregg, FRCS Valedictorian, Class of 2008

Franklin Road Christian School holds many memories for me. I attended from first grade all the way through graduation and loved the time that I spent there. I felt supported and encouraged by the teachers and faculty yet also challenged. I was pushed to explore and develop academically, spiritually, and emotionally. I was not only another student that walked through the hallways but a person who had purpose and meaning.
Franklin Road offered courses that helped me prepare for college. I was able to test out of a Spanish course and enter at a Junior level. That is due to the fact that Franklin Road Christian expanded the Spanish program.
I found that the majority of my freshman year at college was relatively easy academically because I had been so prepared in high school. Writing papers was something that came naturally because our English teacher, Mrs. Swaffield, consistently incorporated proper research and writing into the sylabus. Senior project was an incredibly rigorous and challenging project, and although time consuming, was worth every minute. It taught me how to effectively research and write a well-written paper. It also helps in public speaking. Senior project teaches skills that can be used in any area, not only for college but also for life. It teaches dedication and hard work.
Franklin Road Christian School is an amazing school that had a major influence on my life. I will forever be grateful to my teachers and also for the opportunities that I had while attending. I had the opportunity to serve in the local community through doing activities such as visiting nursing homes, and raking leaves and also overseas in Bolivia. The trip to Bolivia was a life-changing experience that I will remember forever. If it were not for Franklin Road Christian and all who work there, I would not be where I am today.
