Advanced Prep Academy/Dual College Credit
What is Advanced Prep Academy?
Advanced Prep Academy is a cooperative program between Franklin Road Christian School and Central Bible College (CBC) that enables qualified high school students to enroll in college courses, earning college credits during their high school experience. The program, which serves as a bridge between high school and college, seeks to avoid duplication in secondary and undergraduate programs, to provide qualified students with the opportunity to accelerate their academic pursuits and to provide enriched instruction in the secondary school.
How does Advanced Prep Academy work?
Advanced Prep Academy courses are:
- Taught on the high school campus by certified high school instructors who use course descriptions, syllabi, and exams approved by Central Bible College, or
- Offered by Central Bible College- Michigan at local facilities and taught by Central Bible College professors.
- Students may take course through CBC as juniors and seniors in high school. Students who successfully complete the courses earn college credit.
Who can apply to Advanced Prep Academy?
Students in their junior or senior years of high school at Franklin Road Christian School and who are academically prepared for college-level course work may apply to the program with permission from the school guidance counselor. Students, who are qualified, may register for the college courses and will pay applicable tuition. Students who enter the program should be prepared to work hard and be challenged, as these courses will make greater demands on the students than high school courses.
Advanced Prep Academy Registration and Payment
Advanced Prep Academy courses are offered at a significantly reduced tuition rate. Currently, tuition is $75.00 per credit hour; therefore, a 3 credit hour course is $225.00.
Central Bible College (main campus) tuition rate is $387.00 per credit hour; $1,161.00 for a 3 credit hour course.
Central Bible College (Michigan campus) tuition rate is $160.00 per credit hour; $480.00 for a 3 credit hour course.
Registration will be completed through FRCS before each course begins. Payments are made directly to CBC. Each registration form must be reviewed and signed by the FRCS guidance counselor and a parent or guardian before student may register for courses.
